Wicker Mailcart c1895. Make unknown. This is a typical 4 wheeled mailcart, there is no cross piece between the handles and without brakes many a mailcart ‘Got away from Nanny’. Later examples often had a cross piece between the handles though they were usually placed some way down the handle shafts. As with the majority of mailcart’s this example can be converted from a flat bed to a single or twin pushchair, see pictures. Another from the Jack Hampshire sale.
