Summer Perambulator c1895. Make unknown. This lovely pram was intended only for use in the summer and never had a hood. From the Jack Hampshire collection, bought by us at the Silver Cross sale, it has been repainted but the upholstery is original. The canopy however is a modern frame extended and covered with bamboo, the cover was copied from an old postcard.

Brass Handled Perambulator c1895. Make unknown. This dainty pram may also be French. It‘s unusual as it is not slung on leather straps and has brass covered handles, twisted brass hood arms and a dickey seat at the handle end. It has had some restoration work, the hood has been replaced, the chassis repainted and the body patched. This pram among others came from Tunbridge Wells a 450 mile round trip for us, but well worth the effort! |
